Andrea Guillaume
Partner / B. Admin, CPA, CA
Andrea was born and raised in Claybank, SK, and settled in Moose Jaw when her children were born. In 1997, she convocated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Administration degree. She obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 2000. While most of her practice is agriculture-related, Andrea also practices in the retail, not-for-profit, and manufacturing sectors. She also provides a variety of services for her clients including consulting, succession and estate planning, accounting and audit services, and tax compliance. Away from the office, she enjoys golfing, travelling, and spending time with her adult children.
Derek Owens
Partner / B. Admin, CPA, CA
Derek was born and raised on a farm in the Moose Jaw area. After high school, he graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Administration with an accounting major. He began as an articling staff accountant with our firm in 2002 working towards his Chartered Accounting designation, which he received in 2005. Derek became a partner in our firm in 2008. His practice includes individuals and entities of all sizes and industries and provides all areas of services to his clients. Derek is active in coaching youth softball and curling in Moose Jaw. He enjoys curling, golfing, watching baseball, and spending time with family.
Colby Smith
Partner / B.Comm, CPA, CGA
Colby is from Meadow Lake Saskatchewan and moved to Moose Jaw in 2003 to attend SIAST Palliser Campus (now Saskatchewan Polytechnic). In 2005 he graduated with a diploma in Business with a specialty in accounting. He enrolled in the Certified General Accounting program in 2008 and completed the designation in 2012 along with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. In 2015 Colby became an associate with the firm and began taking on his own clients and in 2018 he became a partner. Colby’s practice includes individuals and entities of all sizes and industries and provides all areas of services to his clients. Colby enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
Marcia Lane
Bookkeeping Manager
Marcia began her career with our firm as a bookkeeper in 2011. In 2021, she was promoted to bookkeeping manager and oversees the bookkeeping that is prepared at our firm. Through her experience, she has gained knowledge in bookkeeping preparation as well as preparation of both personal and corporate tax returns. She has experience in many accounting software programs including Sage, QuickBooks both desktop and online versions, as well as AgExpert both desktop and online versions.
Sara Ulmer
Accounting Manager / B. Admin
Sara began her career first as a high school math educator, before continuing her education to become an accountant. She has been with our firm since 2012, beginning as a staff accountant and moving into a management role in 2021. Sara oversees the training/mentoring of new accountants, handles the IT of our firm and assists the partners in reviewing files and reorganizations. She also has extensive experience with individual and corporate clients to handle their accounting, tax and assurance needs.
Alyssa Wilk
Assurance Manager / B.Admin, CPA
Alyssa is the Assurance Manager for BTN Professional Accountants and has been with the firm since 2015. Alyssa was designated as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in 2019. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting from the University of Regina and a diploma in Business Accountancy from SIAST. Alyssa manages and overseas the majority of the firms audit and review engagements. In addition to the assurance sector of our firm, Alyssa has experience with personal and corporate clients and handles their various accounting and tax needs.
